Moving right along...

Well, the wedding planning progress is coming right along. Its so exciting! I bought my dress on Saturday! Its defiantely the perfect one. Amy went with me and we both felt like this was the one. I was waiting for that moment everytime I tried them on, but I just hadnt really had it until this one. So, Im confident I didnt make a hasty decision. I also booked the photographer, florist, and I have other details planned out that dont even need to be done yet. YEA! My mom's friend Robin came over to share some great shower ideas too which made Mom get really excited. Thanks Ms Robin for all your help already! We are going to register on Sunday and Im pretty pumped about that. I hope everyone is doing great!

Into The Woods!

Here is the official poster for our show. It is coming right along, but I have to say its nowhere NEAR where it should be. Brent and I are both a little nervous that it won't come completely together. When doing a show there are just so many little details to conisder and if you let one or more go and forget their importance it can ruin the entire dynamic. Right now, it is pace. Cue pick ups and pace. Most people are not off book so Im sure once they are we can pick up the pace. Other than that, the cast is fun and we have the party agenda in line. That is, people who will host the cast parties after each show. This is of great imporatance to my friends b/c this is why we do theatre. (ha) Aside from that, if you are interested in seeing the show and you live in or near Birmingham please reserve your tickets. It is an excellent show and our cast certainly has the potential to pull it off we just need to clean up the details. www.centerstage-productions.org

Dresses and Singing

Yesterday was an exciting day for me. My sweet friend Beth went with me to look for a wedding dress. You can tell she has done this many times with other friends b/c she was a complete pro. I went to pick her up and she had a present for the day. It was a present log book for the gifts we will get for the wedding. What a great gift and so unexpected. We had planned to look at 3 or 4 places but only ended up getting to go to one b/c of my Into the Woods rehearsal. However, we were very productive at the one store. I can't go in to detail about the dresses I have in my "yes" pile, but I definitely found some that were keepers. I am still going to other places so I can make sure I am completely sold on the dress. However, it was a great start and alot of fun. Thank you Beth for being such a big help and doing it willingly! I would describe the dresses, but obviously Brent reads this blog and well...I can't.
Next on the wedding front- meeting the caterer tomorrow. I'm also meeting the photographer on Wednesday. Im glad things are moving right along.
Brent and I sang today at my grandmother's church in Prattville. We had to be there at 7:45 and for those of you that know me, I have a rather wraspy voice and the mornings don't really help. So, I was very afraid I couldn't squeak out the notes that early, but surprisingly my voice cooperated today. You really never know with mine. We also sang at the second service. My grandmother was so excited and proud and it made it all so worth it. We spent the night with them on Saturday night and got to visit alot with Honey (as I call her). My grandaddy got to come for the first service which was a nice surprise. His back is usually too painful to sit through anything. My cousin Abby and her boyfriend Jack even drove from Auburn to see us too. It was a very nice day.

A Splendid Weekend!

Brent and I had a great weekend. He came to Birmingham Friday nigth and we had dinner with his brother Glenn. Then we went to my Cabaret DVD review party at Annalisa's house. Her husband has been editing our DVD since June and has it finished. It was good to see those peeps. We had so much fun in that show. The DVD looks great too. On Saturday we had to go to rehearsal as always. Then around 4:30 we headed to Tuscaloos for a Fiesta. Yes, I made quesadillas, rice and chips and salsa for Brent,Carly, Zoe, and myself. Then we played Wii and just hung out. It was really very fun. We rarely have nights like this but it was a nice glimpse of the future. On Sunday we went to church at Grace Church which is the one we decided we like the best so far. We had lunch at Zoe's Kitchen afterwards. All day yesterday we did home improvments to get Brent's house ready to put on the market. We did yard work and cleaned out the playroom. We got rid of so many unused toys and organized the whole room. It looks sooooo good! We just stood in there and stared forever. When Zoe saw it she said "It is amazing!' So, in all we had a great weekend.

Babies, Babies, Babies...

I know it is a little late for my plans last weekend, but I had a VERY baby weekend. Saturday, Mom and I had to go to a wedding shower for a high school friend and there were several babies running around. Once I saw their mom I realized these were also 2 girls I went to high school with that have 3 kids each. It is still a weird notion that I am old enough to have kids, much less people 5 and 6 years younger than me. Then I had plans to meet Lenzie at TCBY and see her house that I still had not seen. It was super fun to see her pregnant and catch up with their lives. I love her house and especially Knox's nursery. Too precious. As we are sitting at TCBY, my friend Adrienne pulls up with her new baby in the car. So, I unexpectedly got to meet Ryleigh for the first time. As soon as I dropped Lenzie off, I rushed to meet Haley at her dad's house to meet Maggie Lee for the first time. She is too precious I must say. I could have held her for hours. I feel VERY knowlegeble about new babies now. I probably know WAY too much baby information right now since I am not in the market. Waah. (Brent is the only one that will get this)

Sad News..

I could not get the surgery. My eyes are just too bad. Basically my left eye has scarring over part of the cornea and lasik would not help it. The right eyes is so bad that the surgery could not correct it. So, my only option would have been to get an implantable contact lens (ICL) put in the right eye only. Its much riskier than lasik and since this was my one "good eye" I opted not to do it. Plus, since Im going to have to wear a contact in the left eye forever anyway, might as well wear one in the right. Its a disppointment but not a surprise. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers though. It just wasn't meant to be.
On a positive note Brent was so sweet. I went to Tuscaloosa yesterday to watch the Super Bowl with him and he had a cute "game plan" for each quarter of the game. One was for me to look in the pantry and he had gotten a dozen roses! He's so sweet. I am very lucky!
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3: 12-14
