Memphis in May!

Emily beat me to the punch with her elaborate Memphis post from this past weekend. I wanted to share my own version (that will be shorter b/c Im not the writer Emily is). This weekend I went to Memphis to visit my friend and college roomie, Caroline. She moved there in December and was nice enough to invite us for a girls trip. , Taylor, Caroline and I went to Fairhope last year to visit Emily. We had so much fun eating, talking, reminiscing about college days, name dropping..hahaha. She took us to the BBQ fest on Friday night that reminded me of the Peanut Festival without the rides and it one long strip that went on and on and on...which I can proove by the blisters on my feet. Caroline also had a "fiesta" on Saturday night and invited our college friend Amy Beth over as well. The whole weekend was fun and relaxing and it was great to just get away. Here are some pics of the trip.

News!

After sending out my resume to 2,765 places I finally got a job in Tuscaloosa! I am very excited about it. About one month ago Brent and I went to dinner with an attorney friend of his in hopes that he had friends or co-workers/clients that were hiring. He said he would keeps his eyes opened for an opporutnity for me. Well, he called Brent Thursday night and asked if I was still looking and of course I was. His assistant quit and he wanted to officially interview me. So, I am now going to be a Legal Assitant to Bryan at his law firm. I am going to have to learn from scratch but Im very interested in law and excited. I guess Im moving in 2 weeks! YIKES! Wish me luck.

Can you imagine?

Brent is directing Damn Yankees right now at Bryant High School and has had a VERY hard time getting the cast to cooperate. I'm really not sure why and I think he is baffled. They have one rehearsal left and I'm pretty sure several people dont know some of their lines. When I was in HS, Mr. Sirmon would have literally killed us if we didnt have the show perfect by now. I know its not Brents fault b/c I know he has yelled, threatened, bribed and none whatever it took to make them care...and they just don't. The scariest part was that two night ago he really thought the lead girl was going to quit and asked me if I could learn the part in 3 days. Can you imagine trying to learn all the lines, songs and blocking in 3 days?? Not to mention i have a full time job and a couple hundred thank you notes to write. Anyway, I think she has hesitantly stayed around (thank you Lord) and I dont have to perform a miracle. Of all the shows I've seen, been in, and memorized the soundtracks to, Damn Yankees is not one of them. I am ready for it to be over for B's sake though. just 1 more rehearsal B!

What a wonderful day!

Getting married is so much fun!! Or I guess the process of being engaged and having everyone around you shower you with presents even though you already have the best present of all...someone to spend the rest of your life with. Today was my first wedding shower at the home of one of my favorite people in the whole world, Robin Brookshire. She has just made such a fuss about me being engaged and then graciously offered to host a shower at her house. There were 8 hostesses, all SO sweet and helpful. The place looked so beautiful with the flowers and wonderful food. I just couldn't help but feel immensly blessed to have people so willing to do something so nice for me. I got several great gifts that I can't wait to use. I'm very excited to have fulfilled alot of my china too! Both of my grandmothers got to come which means alot since I know both of them made a special sacrifice to be there. We had a great turn out and I just couldnt have asked for a better day! I truly am grateful, and I didnt realize what a humbling experience this would be. Stay tuned for pictures....
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3: 12-14
