The Dork Knight

Which is what I should have been called the week leading up to my viewing of the new Batman movie. I was way over excited and I'm not exactly sure why. I guess I have a weird interest in psychological issues...which if you've seen any previews whatsoever you can see Heath Ledger's portrayal of the "Joker" is very disturbing. I had heard it was a really great movie. Very dark and just plain intense. It was a 2 1/2 hour flick which I find hard to sit through normally due to a little attention issues. Anyway, this movie was very good! I loved it. I though Heath Ledger did an amazing job! I was not disappointed. A bit freaked out, but not disappointed. As most people do these days and if you've ever seen "IT" clowns are just scary. I hate clowns and the Joker is basically a clown and his "employees" parade around in creepy clown masks. This did not help in my hatred for clowns. Anyway, if you have any interest at all in this movie, its very good, very intense and it really makes me sad that Heath Ledger is gone. He is just so talented!

My Bachelorette Party!

This past weekend I went to Orange Beach to celebrate my bachelorette party! It was so much fun! A very much needed girls weekend if you will. Everyone there did so much to make the weekend special for me. I am pretty sure we all had a fantastic time! Friday night as everyone got there we played games and ordered pizza. Then we went out to the Flora-bama (which is another whole blog). On Saturday we went to the beach and then for a boat ride which was awesome! Thanks Leslie! Then my sweet bridesmaids and friends had a lingerie shower for me. I got so much cute stuff! Then we went to Tacky Jacks for dinner which turned into another party. We met several random groups and were very friendly. There is something about a Bacheloretty party that makes you open up and ask random people anything you wish. It has been like this on every one I have been to. Then, we went to Flora-bama again. Let me also add that we ran into so many people we knew at Flora Bama. That always amazes me. I know its a popular place, especially in Orange Beach, but really? Several people? Here are some pics! The flip flop picture is funny because we met this guy named Sean Combs (aka P Diddy)...no lie. He took his flops off to dance so I took the opportunity to wear them the rest of the night. My shoes hurt.

Help/Swim Out!

So, I want to give my blog a make-over but I dont know how to do it. I see so many cute blogs out there but just dont' know where to get them. Can someone tell me how to make mine cute? Mine is sooooo early 2007...haha.

On another note, last weekend Brent and I threw a very succesful pool party which we like to call "Swim Out" and have done for the past 3 years. We grilled hamburgers and I made my famous fruit pizza. We had a great turn out too..our biggest crowd yet! Sadly, I have no pics to show of this day b/c my camera is broken and has been for over a year. BOO!

So, whilst swimming someone said "hey its 8:30" which was crazy because I truly thought it was 5:00. Ah well..you know what they say? Time...Time. flies..(thats for your Lee) So we headed inside for a rousing game of Apples to Apples. My new favorite! If you haven't played it, you totally should. Its very fun...and for all ages I would say.

I'm going to be an aunt!

Sorry Amy, I just had to spread the good news over the blog! Yes, in fact my sister-in-law Amy is going to have a baby in February!! I wanted to wait a little while until she and Nathan could tell their friends, but I think my dad has done most of the telling himself. He is so excited..well we all are. They both will be wonderful parents. They also aren't giving away any of their name ideas so I guess we'll have to wait on that one. I'm sure I will be updating the progress as it gets here. It is still very early. I just had to devote a blog to the new addition we will have in February! This has been a very exciting year so far, stay tuned...

Girls weekend!

I realize I am about 3 days late on my weekend update, but ya know, a girls gotta job. So, the plan was, my friend Meg, Leah, and Ivy were hosting a shower for me, Kristin (getting married) and Katie (having a baby). We decided it would be just for our group of friends at Leah's parents house in Hoover. We met up Friday night at Meg's house for cocktails and appetizers. It was great to catch up with these girls I rarely get to see, but have SO much fun when we do. Saturday, we met for the shower around noon and ate fun shower food including Edgars cake (yum) and opened presents. This was fun for several reasons. Mainly, this was Krisin's first shower and she obviously hasnt practiced her acceptance of gifts face/script. She said things like "Yea, I can start taking things back now!" and "I will truly never use this". It was super funny for me.

Then Ivy graciously offered for all of us to come to her aunt's lake house on Inlet lake for the night. So, around 4:00 we drove to the lake with more food than 12 hours EVER needs! When we arrived we immediately got in the lake and stayed until it was dark. Then we cooked pizzas and talked until about 2 am. It was so nice to just "be" with these girls. I miss our college days together just sitting at Eagle Point (where most of us lived) and laughing so hard. We missed April, Betsy, and Kat though. I will see you at the wedding though!

P.S. Did I mention Ivy's aunts place is amazing? Flat screen TV's and awesome beds! I could live there for sure! Too bad I have no pictures from the weekend, period.
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3: 12-14
