Sick boy

We have had a rough time lately. Baker has been to the doctor 5 times in February for various reasons. Each time, the doctors say "its not this yet, but it can turn into it..." Well my friends, it has turned into it. He has RSV, a double ear infection, a possible stomach virus and eczema all over his body. I just feel so bad for him. The crazy thing is, for the most part, he is acting normal. He is eating fine, no fever, still smiling. He has to have breathing treatments every 4 hours which he hates. He is on antibiotics as well. However, something is not agreeding with him and he has had diarrhea and vomitting. Last night, he threw up in his bed and then rolled his head all in it. We literally had to wash his face and hair in the middle of the night. I'm just not even sure how to handle all of this. I am not the best with this kind of thing. I am way too emotional about it all. PLEASE GOD HEAL THE BAKER MAN!

In other news, I assembled his "Jump N Go" yesterday and he seems to really like it. This is a pic of him in action. Yes, his head is greasy and his eyes are red...all from a reaction to the meds/eczema. The greasiness is ointment. All I could say to him yesterday was "You look terrible".

Photo Shoot!

As you can see, my blog has had a makeover. I was ready for a change and it came just in time for the proofs to come back from Baker's photo session this past weekend. I think they turned out great! They are by Elisabeth King here in Tuscaloosa. Baker did awesome considering he had 3 costume changes. He would not smile though, which was disappointing since he is a super smiler these days. Here are a few of my favorites!

Once upon a time...

When B was a wee little thing, I decided his fingernails were long enough to clip and so out of the box came the baby clippers. Baker Man was a wiggly little fella and made it very hard to accomplish this task. Then lo and behold, the most tragic thing happened...clip goes the skin of the 3rd finger. Baker was so upset and it broke my heart into a million pieces. I had physically injured my baby. It was 100% my fault (well 90% mine, 10% his for being so wiggly) Thus, I am now terrified to clip his nails. Resulting in this:

Fast forward to my little man having a grandiose case of eczema on his forehead. Redness and dryness for days. This must itch...keep in mind the long fingernails. Resulting in this:

Whats a mom to do?

No really, before you call DHR, we went to the doctor yesterday and are well on our way to a non-itchy forehead..I clip what he will let me of his fingernails. Why is this so hard??

This little man...

Oh, I love this sweet face. He makes me smile so much. I love so many things about him. I feel a list coming on...

1. He is so sweet now. There was a time in his "newborness" that we just could not make him happy. I thought that he was just miserable all the time and we could not fix it. Finally, he just grew out of that and is SO happy and content these days.

2. He laughed for the first time the other night while Brent was "zorbitting" his belly. I thought I was going to die right then and there. Cutest thing I have truly ever seen.

3. The smiling has been growing every day. He smiles so much now and it just melts me every time.

4. He is a great sleeper. We now have him on a 7:30 pm to 6:30 am sleep schedule. Well, I guess I shouldnt credit ourselves for that. He does it on his own.

5. He will sit content in his bouncy seat and let me get ready in the mornings. If he didn't, we would have some very long mornings.

He is getting his picture made on Saturday so we shall see how those turn out. I will post them when I get the digital images.
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3: 12-14
