Pyloric Stenosis

It's been a while since my last post. Partly because of Thanksgiving. Partly because of a little thing called pyloric stenosis. Little Baker Man started projectile vomiting most everything he ate over Thanksgiving and to the point we began to worry. I just knew it was reflux so I didn't worry too much. Although, the pedeiatrician suggested going to the ER in case it was pyloric stenosis, which we did. The ER only did an X-Ray and said he did not have anything life threatening (thanks Jackson Hospital) and to follow up with my pediatrician. So, I did and they kind of gave me the "your a paranoid mom" look and sent me to get an ultrasound anyway. Turns out, he tested positive for pyloric stenosis which is a stomach issue where the muscle is to large at the "emptying spot" and makes the food back up causing them to vomit. Eventually they dehydrate from no food intake ect.. So, off we were to Children's Hospital for SURGERY! If you have ever had to take your baby to the hospital for surgery you know how terrifying it is. I myself have had two heart surgeries and the fear and worry was nothing compared to this! We couldnt allow him to eat for 22 hours and this was by far the worst part. That night before the surgery, while waiting in the hospital room was miserable for all of us.

To make a long story short, the surgery went great. I knew Children's Hospital was the best place he could be for this type of situation and I trusted them although it was still very scary. He has bounced back quickly (thank the Lord)and we can't thank all of you that prayed for him. I know he was lifted up because we felt the prayers and he did great.

Here is a pitiful little picture of Baker Man in his little hospital bed. Don't worry, he only actually stayed in this bed for a total of about 5 minutes. We held him the whole time.

1 Month

I have a one month old! Since I just posted a week ago, I don't need to post about the things he is doing..the answer is still "not too much". However, we have had a turn-around with his sleeping. He went from being VERY fussy and only sleeping well if we held him, to sleeping really well.

The truth is, we have started letting him sleep on his stomach for naps during the day. He still sleeps swaddled on his back at night but since he is sleeping well during the day, he is getting good sleep at night. You would think if they have rough days with little to no sleep then they would sleep good at night but that is NOT the case. I am aware of SIDS and why they say not to let them sleep on their tummies, but at some point you have to use common sense and since I can monitor him well during the daytime naps, I'm going to let him sleep on his tummy! Plus, he already raises his head well and can turn it if he chooses.

I also think we were overstimulating him during "waketime" and not putting him in his crib while he slept. Trial and error I guess. I think it was just too noisy for him in our house to sleep in his swing during the day.

If you are a new mom or a mom that remembers, how many ounces does your baby eat or did they eat at 4 weeks? How much time did they spend awake after each feeding? How long would they sleep? I'm just trying to get an idea if we are about average. I hear so many different answers on this.

3 Weeks!

My sweet baby boy is 3 weeks old today. I am going to be one of those people that says "my how time flies" and it does. Wow, it truly seems like yesterday I was headed to the hospital..and in other ways that feels like centuries ago. Life is much sweeter with this baby in our lives. He might not be able to do much yet, but we are loving the little things. So far, these are things I like and have noticed about Baker.

1. He HAS to have his paci at all times. He sleeps with one in his mouth which is probably a hazard but otherwise, there will be no sleeping.

2. He pees and poops on me all the time, but never on Brent. Perhaps you know who changes him the most. JK Brent. ( this is more in the "noticed" category instead of "like" category.

3. My severe paranoia has subsided a touch. I was overboard with worry for him and after much prayer I have handed that to God and hoping that everyday I have the right amount of concern for him, but not worry. Its certainly more freeing.

4. At the moment he is not as interested in sleeping as I would like him to be. Maybe I should say "sound sleeping". He wakes up very frequently to grunt and strain.

5. Grunting and straining are a huge part of his little day.

6. He smiled at me today. I think it was an accident but I didnt care. I can't wait for him to really smile at us!

7. I LOVE the way he looks and smells after his bath. He is getting more used to the bath but still hates getting out. It must be awfully cold because he freaks out in the few seconds of transition from tub to towel. Sad few seconds.

8. He loves his swing. Its been a great thing to have because he is usually pretty content to sit in it for a while. Thanks Hayes for letting us use yours!

More pics to come!

He's Here!

Well, I spoke too soon on my last post. What are the odds that after my frustrated post about being miserable, I would go into labor that night! I was not dilated or effaced and there was no end in sight. Nonetheless, my water broke Wednesday, October 21st at around midnight. It was a crazy surprise for Brent and I. I had to wake him up for the cliche "My water just broke, we gotta go to the hospital". However, I was having no contractions at all so I thought this might not be it. When we got there, they checked me immediately to see if in fact it was amniotic fluid and it was!! We were having our baby that day! We called my parents right away around 1:00 am and they headed to Tuscaloosa. Since I still wasnt having any contractions and still was not dilated at all, they gave me Pitocin to start the labor process. Luckily, they were willing to give me an epidural as soon as I wanted one which was ASAP. After that, I felt fantastic and just waited around to dilate. After 10 short hours, I still was 0 dilated and 0 effaced and the doctor recommended a C-section. This was not my plan at all, but it wasnt looking like I would get to have him naturally. So, 30 minutes later, Baker Thomas was in this world as handsome and perfect as ever!

These pictures of from Day 2 of his little life and he has already changed so much. We just love him to death and are enjoying every minute. I now understand what "you love them so much it hurts" means. He is just so precious. I am a protective and paranoid mom, but I am hoping I calm down as he gets a little older. He had a few minor challenges (a little jaundice, weight loss and a minor tounge issue) but now he is great and such a good baby. He eats well, sleeps well and rarely fusses unless he is hungry.

We are very thankful for a healthy baby. I can't wait to see what the next few weeks, months and years will be like. Thanks to all of his hospital visitors!

37.5

Weeks pregnant that is. Wow. In the very grand scheme of things, making it to 37 1/2 weeks is awesome and means pregnancy is almost over. The problem is the "almost". These past few days and the weeks (or so) to come will drive me crazy. If you know me, you know I am not very patient at all. This has to be the best and worst kind of anticipation too. I mean, I am so very excited about what is about to change my life. I know once he is here I will be so thrilled, but waiting for it to happen just seems impossible. I had my second appointment today where they checked to see if I was dilated. Nothing. This was discouraging even though I'm 2 1/2 weeks away from my due date. I'm sure moms out there know what I'm talking about. At this point you just don't know how much longer you can take it.

It wouldn't be SO bad but I've recently developed some new, fun symptoms. For example, I now have a constant headache. I take the Tylenol and when it wears off the headache is back and Tylenol again...and so on. It never stops. I really tried to avoid all medicine this whole time and I have done pretty well and not having to take anything. Now, here at the end I am having to take butt loads of it.

My pelvis bone now hurts. I'm sure my pelvis is separating or doing whatever it does to prepare for birth, but OUCH. I have kissed sleeping goodbye.

Dizziness is another one. I sporadically get dizzy and feel like I'm going to faint. Not sure what that's about.

Cramps. I assume anyone not interested in hearing these details has stopped reading by now anyway, but I've had menstrual-like cramps off and on for weeks.

One would think, "Hey, you're about to go into labor". Yes, well its not looking like its anytime soon. So cervix, dilate please! And Baker, please be ready to come into the world. I promise you will love your nursery and your family and all the pets. It will be much more comfortable that my cramped up womb. Thanks.

Shower

Last Sunday, I had a wonderful shower in Birmingham at my life-long friend, Beth's house. Amy, Linda and Kristen helped out too! It was awesome! I have the best friends and family ever! We got so much cute stuff for Baker and he is now set for his arrival. Here are a few pics. I am aware that my face is ridiculously swollen.

Home Stretch

As you can see from my ticker on the left side of the screen, I am 32 weeks pregnant. I have 8 (hopefully 7) weeks left! Pregnancy has been crazy. I started off with quite a bit of nausea, then that went away and the weight gain really started. I just got heavier and heavier and everyday tasks became harder and harder. The kicks started around 24 weeks and are still going strong. This little guy is a definite mover. I thought I would take this time to give a top ten list of things I look forward to about NOT being pregnant:

1. Being able to sleep (and everyone laughs b/c they know you don't sleep but for different reasons)
2. Having a normal size stomach
3. Not having 2 thousand limitations because I am pregnant
4. Having a sweet baby to hold in my arms instead of my stomach
5. Being able to exercise/lose weight
6. Having a glass of wine
7. Drinking caffeine
8. Using the restroom a normal about of times per day
9. Not having people ask when I am due and then gasping that I am so big with so much time left
10. Getting to see Baker for the first time!

There it is. I am going to post pics of the nursery ASAP. It is finished minus a few small details.

Paper Anniversary!

We made it! 1 whole year of marriage. It truly seems like yesterday we were scrambling around in a hurricane to pull off this wedding at American Village. We had so many wonderful people come together to make it happen for us. It went by in such a flash. I felt like the reception lasted 10 minutes. It was a great time despite the weather. I'm sure every girl wishes they could relive their wedding day.

My cousin Claire just got engaged and I've been talking to her a lot about planning. My parents asked me if I had it to do over again, would I just take the money and run and not have a wedding. The answer is NO! I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. The stress of it all was worth having this one wonderful day with all of our family in friends in the same room.

So, to celebrate in the traditional fashion we decided to do the paper gifts. Brent made me a book of our relationship from day one. He even printed out the cast list from the show (42nd Street) that we met while doing together. It had pictures and mapquest directions and the whole bit. At the end he gave me a "paper" gift certificate to my favorite spa here in town. He knows he can't go wrong with massages and spa pampering! I gave him a subscription to Sports Illustrated since I knew he would love this and never buy it for himself. For the grand finale, I had 2 tickets to the Alabama v. Arkanasas game.

Friday night we went to our special restaurant, Bottega. Then, we stayed at Cobb Lane Bed and Breakfast. It was a unique treat. I have never stayed at a bed and breakfast before and we both really liked it. It felt like a vacation even though we were only in Birmingham.

Saturday we ate lunch at Chappy's (my favorite) and then went to the dollar movie and stayed for 2 movies since they are only $1. Then we came back to Tuscaloosa and grilled out. Sunday, which was our actual anniversary, we ate a piece of our wedding cake (which was good, by the way) and ate at Cypress Inn Sunday night. It was a great anniversary!

Patty Cake, Patty Cake, Baker's Man..

We finally have a name for the little man and I think he's going to like it and own it with pride.

BAKER THOMAS JONES

We will call him "Baker". I love it for several reasons. I'm big on names that are not very popular. I don't know any baby Baker's as of now. I hope that lasts.

On a totally different note, I want to take a brief moment to explain the picture below. Our little kitty "Cow" is affectionate but only on her time. She is choosy about the times she wants to give you loving. However, when she does it is so worth it. Today she decided as I was working on the computer that it would be a good time for affection. The black n white polka dots is my enormous belly that she is "hugging". The cats LOVE Baker. I truly think they know he is in there.

Auburn Shower

This blog is a hard one for me for I will be posting pics of my large self for the world to see. I have avoided this for as long as I can, but I really want to tell you about the sweet shower my college friends threw for me, Betsy and Kristin in Auburn last weekend. Two of my college/sorority sisters Betsy and Kristin are also pregnant and they are both having girls and due on the same day (Nov 17th) which is 10 days after me. So, we had a joint shower! We all share a love for AU and miss it like crazy, so it made sense to have it in Auburn.

When we arrived Friday we had dinner at my AU fave, Niffers. I had to get the homemade chips for old time sakes. Niffers really hasn't changed a bit. After dinner we sat on the patio at the AU Conference Center and chatted it up until bed. I won't mention the horrible nights sleep I had sleeping with Kristin. 2 preg girls together in the bed is NOT a good idea.

Saturday we were awoken by the comforting sound of a fire alarm. We had to evacuate in our PJ's and let's just say I don't look good in the mornings these days. So, we decided to get in the car and tour around Auburn since it looks NOTHING like it did when we went there. Its still the best campus there is!

For lunch: AMSTERDAM! 99% of people that went the Auburn were obsessed with Amsterdam, more specifically, the turkey wrap. It was just as I remembered it (thank you honey mustard) We left lunch and swam/sat by the pool for the afternoon. Then it was time for dinner. We wanted a nice place in Auburn and did not realize that these do not really exist anymore. Hamilton's closed, Terra Cotta closed, others were only opened for parties...so, we decided on Ole Auburn Ale House. Ok, I remember this place as a nice restaurant since I remember going before formals and such...well, not so much. Its really a pub with food. We still had a great time, but the food/service was not at ALL what we were expecting.

After dinner, it was time for the shower! Here the girls had decorated their room for the shower and we were seeing it for the first time. It was so sweet. Edgar's cake and cupcakes-nothing to complain about!

In all, it was a wonderful weekend. I miss these girls and I can't wait to get together again.

Whats been going on

Lets see...the past few weeks have been great. I went to Fairhope to visit one of my college roommates and friends, Emily. She is 17 weeks pregnant and not feeling very good. I thought it would be fun to hang out with her and chat up the pregnant world. In doing so, I got to see my long-time friend Lucy and her sister Lauren! I haven't seen these girls in probably 5 years. I LOVE when I see old friends and I feel like they haven't changed a bit. These girls haven't changed a bit! I ended up helping them out with a dinner party for this end-of-bible-study-graduation thing. It was WORK. 3 of the 5 workers were pregnant too so it made it even harder. It ended up being fun though and I know we really helped them out, which was rewarding.

Last weekend I went to Gulf Shores for a Family Girls trip. My mom, grandmother, aunts, and cousins all went and we had fun. We went out to the beach, took a few boat rides, went to eat at Wolfbay, and just talked. I did not visit the Florabama this round. I saw a few pics from this trip and got very sad about the size of my body so I will not be posting pictures. In fact, you probably won't see any belly pics of me. I guess I am not one of those posters. For some reason I still don't find it "cute" on me. I'm really not dealing well with the gaining LOTS of weight thing.

The most exciting thing right now is the baby's room! We put the french doors in this weekend and I've bought all the bedding and a rug. It's really coming along. Now, all I have left is the chandelier and decor. The walls are very bare so its not super cute yet. I do love the bedding though. Its a "transportation" theme complete with hot air balloons, sailboats, airplanes and so on. I really wish I had done before and after pics of this room. It has come soooooo far. It was a playroom with worn out carpet, pink walls (that needed re-painting) broken blinds and SO much clutter. We have made everything in that room new and clean for Baby J's arrival. Once there is a finished product I will post pictures.

In other pregnant news, he is kicking like crazy now. I feel him all the time and it seems like that happened overnight. The last time I went to the doctor I said "I think I feel movements, but its not for sure yet" and now I am for sure that he wants me to know he's in there. Brent has felt him several times and it really is so neat. Zoe got to feel him too which made her very happy. In general, she is ridiculously excited about the baby. She asks lots of questions and I think she feels like time is dragging by (and so do I).

This coming weekend my college friends are throwing me and 2 other preg friends a baby shower in Auburn! We are staying at the conference center and I'm sure we will eat at our favorite Auburn spots. I haven't seen these girls in a while and the dynamic will def be different with 3 pregnant girls. Our group is not used to this- No "Supper Club"- :(

Pool Days!

We had a fun 4th of July! We went to the Looney's annual 4th of July party at their house. It's lots of food, pool time, and friends. We had a great time.

Thursday, we had Amy and Hayes over for Pool Day 2009! Hayes was SO precious the whole time. She looked so very cute in her hat and swimsuit. She makes me long for Baby "J" to be here. (Still no name folks, I apologize)

I have 4 cinnamon bread starter bags people. I need to give them all away. Its the best bread ever! You will bake it 10 days from yesterday. I have directions that go with it of course. Please get one!

Armoire!

On my vacation to Dothan (which was great by the way) Mom and I found this little gem to add to our nursery. Since Baby "J" will live in the Playroom/Dining Room, we have to have an armoire for his clothes. I love an armoire anyway and especially an antique armoire at a good deal. We got it at Backyard Treasures in Dothan. Please do not look at the blue tape on the doors. These doors are going to be replaced with french doors and the tape keeps the cats out for now since they can open them on their own.

As you can see, Cow loves to jump inside it at any chance she gets. This is annoying b/c now there will be white kitty hair all over the inside. For some reason, the armoire is lined with this green cloth, which is fine, but it smells weird. Anyone know how I can get the smell out of it? I sprayed febreeze on the cloth but that didnt work. Its not a horrible smell, but just smells "antique".

This is one of Baby J's first Sunday school outfits. He will most likely wear it for Easter 2010. If you can't see the picture well, the top is white with detailing and the bottoms are a pale yellow. I LOVE THIS! Thanks "Shug: for buying it for him!

Still no names people. I am sorry, its harder than we thought.

In other topics- April O. Owen is in town this weekend! I can't wait to get together tonight with my peeps in Birmingham! April lives in San Antonio so I don't get to see her much. In fact, It might have been November when I saw her last.

Baby Dedication, Dothan & Friends

This blog will be all over the place so let me just warn you before reading further. I've had a little bit of cabin fever so bare with me...

First, this sweet baby is going to be dedicated to the church tomorrow morning at the 11:00 service. Sweet Hayes has been such a precious gift in these 4 1/2 months of her life. I hope she does not scream bloody murder while the preacher is dedicating her. We love you Hayes!

Monday morning I am leaving for Dothan until Thursday. I am so excited! I love going back home. Its like a mini-vacation. Mom is out for the summer so we are just going to play all week. In addition, I am getting together with about 12 of my high school friends for dinner on Tuesday night! I haven't seen most of these girls in about 10 years. I am not going to get to go to my class reunion this year b/c I will be 9 months pregnant, but I at least wanted to get some friends together if I could. It's amazing what a Facebook message can do!

In other excitment, they have been running an ""Adventures in Babysitting marathon or something on E and I am VERY excited. I LOVE this movie. So much action in one short little night of babysitting. It was certainly a sleepover "favorite" and I still love it today it turns out.

Below is a glimpse of the nursery. I realize its a corner and empty, but you can see the hardwoods, blinds and paint color.

Last, I leave you with my specialty dessert that I make EVERY summer for EVERY pool party we have at our house. Its the famous fruit pizza and it's delicious!

It's a BOY!!

We FINALLY know what is inside my growing belly! Somehow, I was shocked when they told me. Its almost like I didnt know there was a 50% chance it was a boy. I think in the back of my mind I just assumed it was a girl. Now that it has processed and is real, I am very excited. Brent is REALLY excited. This will be "new" for both of us. I wish I had the name to announce but we are still debating. There is one that I am particulary pushing for that I have liked from day 1. For now, here are some pictures of the little guy in action.

I have officially "exposed" him for the world to see, but he told me he doesn't mind. I think it will be really cute if he is a tiny replica of Brent. Brent thinks a tiny bald spot would make it even funnier. So, that is what we are hoping for. It will definately be a fun, new dynamic for our household to have a little boy. Not only that, Brent's side of the family has spawned 9 girls and one boy. Then of course Nathan and Amy have a girl as well. So, I guess it was time for a Y chromosome to break through triumphantly.

We are blessed that all arms, legs, heart, spine and everything else they look for was there! His heartbeat is still strong and my blood pressure is good. I am so thankful.

I will leave you with this: Why is it when you ask some pregnant women what they are having, they say "a little boy"? As if birthing a teenage boy was an option. This just happened the other day. I am going to try to answer just "boy".

What will it be??

The big day is almost here. We find out on Tuesday whether the baby is a boy or girl!! We are so excited and anxious. In ways it feels like this pregnancy has flown by b/c I am almost halfway there. In others it has felt like it has been dragging by. I have tried not to think about how long it will be until November 7th gets here, but I have been counting down the days to find out what it is. At this point we can pick a name, buy the bedding and fix the baby's room appropriately.

What do you think it is?

I've been kind of thinking all along that its a boy, but the other night I had a very vivid dream that it was a girl. So, who knows?

My stomach is "out there" and I've had random people ask me if I am having twins. WHY do people feel its appropriate to tell you how big you are? Every woman's body is different and well, I am just going to be big. I get it...loud and clear. I am not too keen on the idea of posting my belly pictures online for the world to see. I dont know why, but I just can't make myself do it.

On a different note, the Tony Awards are tomorrow night and we are having a small gathering. I LOVE the Tony Awards! This year should be interesting since Broadway has been feeling the effects of the economy in a large way. Let's just hope Idina M. pays a tribute somewhere. PLEASE.

Weekend Extravaganza!

Spring Break 09'went off without a hitch! "Spring Break" is what we called our girls trip this weekend since none of us get a Spring Break anymore. Although it should have been called Summer Break now that I think about it.. Ok, this blog is not going well. Let's get to the point. Destination = Atlanta, GA at Taylor R. Bashta's house.

I spent a very fun weekend with 4 friends from college/AOPi that I never ever get to see. We all live in separate cities (except me and Carrie). If you remember my Fairhope and Memphis blogs you would see that we have been reuniting for a little over a year and the crowd has been relatively the same, minus Emily. She could not participate for reasons I will let her tell you about if you would like to know. Carrie and I arrived on Thursday and had a lovely dinner with Taylor. We proceeded to talk until 3:00 am. What? I dont remember the last time I saw 3:00am. Friday we went to the pool and waited for Caroline to arrive. Then we went to the airport to pick up Susan. From there we went to eat a late dinner at the "Flying Biscuit". Friday night we stayed up talking until 5:00 am. EVEN MORE REALLY??

Saturday we went to see Jersey Boys at the Fox Theatre! We all loved it. It has some languange you should be aware of before you see it, but if you can get past that you will love it. Especially if you loved Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Later we went to IKEA for what felt like hours, but I had never been so that was fun. We had a lovely dinner at Brio Saturday night also. We finished up the weekend with church at Taylor's church since her talented husband leads the worship service. Very nice. We enjoyed meeting Jerry dog and seeing her loft as well.

I love weekends of catching up. I love that there are some friends that you can go forever without seeing and just pick up where you left off. With the world of Facebook, e-mail and blogs its not that hard to keep up, but its those indepth conversations that you miss. Next reunion: Tuscaloosa, AL most likely during football season.

Its been a while...

I'm still here. I know its been a WHILE. Honestly, I have been trying to dig to find something to blog about and I guess we are just boring right now. As for pregnancy, I am very thankful for the second trimester. MOST of the symptoms I had are gone now. I have more energy and almost zero nausea. I am trying to enjoy it while it lasts!

The main thing we have going on is nesting! We are definitely nesting. Last weekend we spent pretty much every single hour cleaning out, throwing away, going through, storing etc. in preparation for the baby's room. We have to make our dining room the nursery since we have a 3 bedroom house and they are all being used at the present. The dining room was formerly used as a playroom so you can imagine what kind of fun items there were to go through and store. 99% of the stuff in there is Brents/girls so he really had to do the majority of the work. On Monday, I painted the baby's room. No one leave me a comment saying "Are you sure you can paint?" I am very aware that back in the day they used lead based paint which was not good for anyone, but they do not make that kind of paint anymore. I even called the paint manufacturer to make sure it was safe. I also kept the front and back door opened while I did it and took frequent breaks. We are putting the hardwood floors down in 1 week. After that will just be getting the furniture in there as well as little things. Oh, and the french doors we are putting in also. We want it to still look as much like a dining room as possible for potential buyers.

This week has been fun because I got to keep Hayes!! She is such a cutie and it was great practice for me. Her big trick? Smiling. very cute.

Next weekend is my girls trip to Atlanta! I am so very excited to see my college friends AKA sorority sisters that I never get to see. We are going to see Jersey Boys on Saturday night. That will be super fun.

I go to the doctor on Tuesday for a routine exam. At this appointment I will schedule the ultrasound (2 weeks later) to find out what we are having! It is fun to have that to look forward to. I will be almost halfway done at that point.

Theatre is in the air!

As always, my life is theatrical. I try to surround myself with great musicals because I am very passionate about the theatre. Why I didnt pursue this harder, I will never know. I have always been discouraged I guess b/c of the competition. I have known too many people with the same dream, with more talent and more opportunity that still struggle. I guess I like to eat also.

Anyway, tonight we go see Thoroughly Modern Millie at U of A. I have seen the show once professionally and once that Centerstage did. This show has great music and fun dancing. I haven never seen a U of A show before so Im anxious to see how it is.

Next Thursday we go see Sweeney Todd that Red Mountain is doing. Red Mountain typically does great shows. I've only seen the movie (which I loved)but never the stage version, so excited about that. I know several people in it too so thats always fun.

The girls are auditioning for Sound of Music next week. We'll see how that goes.

Next Friday night is Brent's showcase at Bryant. Brent and I are singing a duet- "Suddenly Seymour" from Little Shop for the showcase. This should be interesting b/c I am not in high school. Also, its a very cliche duet to sing and I have no idea how I will be with it. Maybe I'll get a video so we can laugh.

Coming up in the summer is the possibility of a choreography gig. I have been asked to choregraph A Funny Thing Happend on the Way to the Forum with little rehearsal time. If I'm not 400lbs I would like to do it. This is still up in the air though.

Hayes is getting big!

Here are some new pics of Hayes. I havent seen her in about 3 weeks or so. That is much too long to miss out on this preciousness. She is 3 months old now! I will see you on Sunday Hayes! Don't get too big before I get there.

Don't you want to squeeze her?

Life Update

I see that it has been awhile since my last post. For some reason I just havent felt like writing. I think my energy is just down.

Let's see, I'll go back to last weekend, Easter. We went to Dothan for Easter and it was so nice. I love going to Dothan. It feels like a mini-vacation. My parents feed us well and wait on us hand and foot. Its nice to be home.

This past week we went to see Wicked on Thursday night. For anyone that knows me, knows that since I saw Wicked on Broadway in 2004 I have been obsessed with it. It is hands down my favorite musical (and that is huge). The tour production that came through Birmingham did not disappoint. I was amazed again the second time. Now, my favorite actress of all is Idina Menzel who played the original Elphaba on Broadway and who I got the honor of seeing, so of course she is uncomparable. In fact, she won the Tony for her performance in Wicked. Brent had never seen it so I was excited to see what he thought. He loved it too. Its really hard not to.

This weekend we decided to take an impromptu trip to Seaside. Brent and the girls were on Spring Break and Ive been dying to go so we packed up and made the 5 hour drive. It was a short trip, but fun. We ate good food and had a lovely day on the bach Saturday. Sunday was cloudy so we just walked around the Seaside shops. Unfortunately I have zero pics to share because my camera is broken.

As for Baby J, we are moving right along. I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday so please say a prayer that everything goes well. I am finally starting to feel ok. I think (crossed fingers) the morning sickness might be subsiding. I havent felt nauseated in a week. THANK THE LORD! We find out what we are having in about 6 weeks or so!

This coming weekend we are going to prom! Brent has to chaperone the Bryant High School prom every year so I get to be his date. I wore a cute dress the last time, but since I am whale-like I will just keep it simple with a boring black number.

Here and There

This blog will have no theme whatsoever.

Tonight, the 4 of us (in our family) are going to a dinner- theatre- murder mystery- mayhem-type-thing. That was probably the complete wrong use of hyphens but pregnancy makes me confused. Anyway, Brent's brother Gary is in it, so it should be fun.

I have been extremely nauseated this week. Let me tell you how un-fun it is to feel the need to throw up, but not be able to. I constantly feel "on the verge" of running out of the room, but never get there. I truly thought I was going to be one of the lucky ones too. BLAST!

This weekend Brent and I are going to Birmimgham. I have a baby shower and a wedding shower so we are just going to make a weekend out of it. We havent been in a while so it shoudl be fun. I'm planning on getting sweet potato chips from Cafe Iz at some point. Is it sad that this is on my agenda? Of course we have to see Hayes too.

We are staying with Meg. I havent seen that girl in a while, so it will be nice to catch up and hang out.

14 DAYS UNTIL WICKED!! I am very pumped up. I'm thinking of painting myself green for the entire week before. Not really.

Annie!!

Proud would be an understatement! These kids did an amazing job with this show! I can't tell you how excited and pleased Brent and I both are with the outcome of Annie. The technical aspects came together like a charm and made this a wonderful show to watch. Here are some pictures. I miss the cast already!

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3: 12-14
