Beach Weekend

Its fun to forget how old you are, especially at the beach.

I love when my college friends reunite for a weekend somewhere. Its usually to celebrate someone's baby or engagement and this time was no different. We joined forces in Orange Beach last weekend to celebrate Susan's marriage, April's engagement and Holly's baby on the way.

Marie's mom was gracious enough to let all 9 of us stay at her house for the weekend and Meg's mom was gracious enough to let us have a shower for them at her amazing house across from the beach. Her house is one of those you walk in and immediately feel like your house is a decorating disaster.

We all met at Tacky Jack's as we trickled into town.
We got to wear beach attire to the shower since we immediately walked to the beach after the shower. Doesn't get much better than that!
Meg's mom's porch is just lovely.

We played a few rounds of "Loaded Questions" before heading to dinner.

The view

One thing I often think about is how as we get older, we will probably always just reminisce the old stories we have always laughed about and not be able to make new ones. Not because we aren't fun anymore, but when you have husbands and children, you naturally don't let the party get out of hand.

This trip surprised me with stories we will laugh about for a long time. Stories I'd rather not re-hash on this blog, but I'm glad we still have fun times in us.

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3: 12-14
