We have a sitter!

We officially have a sitter on our hands. I didn't want to claim he could "sit" until I could let him be and he need to help at all. The day has come. He's such a big boy and so proud of himself.

It was a fun weekend just watching him practice his new trick. Friday afternoon we had our 6 month check up. He weighed in at 16 lbs 4 oz. He is in the 25th percentile which was surprising to me b/c he has always been in the 50th. However, he is only in the 10th percentile in height. He's quite the shorty. Oh and 90th percentile in head size. HAHAH! I did not realize he had a huge head.

He has some guns though...

Happy Birthday Baker!

To Baker: Today you are a half year old! I can't believe that 6 months and 1 day ago you were not in our lives. Oh how life has changed since you got here. Words will never do justice to the love I feel for you. In fact, if I think too hard about it, I will cry every time.

You have been a sweet boy from day one. Those "newborn" days were not easy. We were unsure about the reasons you would cry and luckily got answers when you were diagnosed with pyloric stenosis. You were fixed up and now you are back to the happy baby you have always been. Your laugh is so contagious to us. We will act like idiots to keep you laughing. I love that you will let anyone hold you and smile and anyone that will talk to you. I almost always know exactly why you are crying now. You have made life easy on us, sweet boy. I don't want to take your sweet nature for granted.

You have some cool new tricks too! "Razzing" is the new fave. You will spit, spit, spit at us and try to make it as loud as you can. Rolling over is a new one too. Mommy & Daddy wondered if you ever would. Sitting up is getting better, but you still can't quite sit there without some support. Your legs are super strong though. You will stand in our laps for a long time without much help at all. We really like how you grab our faces when you look at us.

SOME of our nicknames for you include: Bud. D. Boyd (aka, Buddy Boy), Bubba, Bakington, Little Man, Buttons, Buggy, Bug Man, Man Man, Precious Angel Baby (ok, thats just me), and of course Baker Man. Yesterday someone called you "Baker's Dozen" which was funny. Your favorite toys are your lovey, musical seahorse, a spatula from the kitchen, exersaucer, jump N Go, and anything that will fit in your mouth. You still LOVE your paci.

You love to be tickled and I have a super cute video of it that will NOT upload for some reason. Sad day.

We love you little boy!

Baby Divided

If I am really honest with myself I know that living in Tuscaloosa will be the demise of Baker's fanhood. Everyone is aware that I attended school on the "Loveliest Village on the Plains" and Brent went to...the other one. So, one day Baker will have to choose. Its not going to be easy if he goes with Bammer, but he will get it honestly. My dad and Brent are both equally annoying fans and after months of pushing and insisting, Baker got his picture made with this dumb trophy.

They think they are real cute in their matching outfits.
So, this weekend was A-Day and Brent insisted again that B dress in Bama gear. I was a good sport.

This is outfit #2 since he peed on #1. Good boy.

This is how he feels about the Big Al paci.

So, Brent and family went to the game while Baker and I went to the park and back home to play. This is what happened:

Wedding weekend Part 1

This weekend was my cousin, Claire's wedding in Mobile. It was an overall wonderful weekend. The weather was amazing (quite opposite the weather for my wedding) and having my whole family there for all the festivities was great. We left early Friday morning so I could make the bridesmaids luncheon. We got the CUTEST bags I have ever seen.

Then we checked into our hotel just long enough to get ready for the rehearsal. Brent and I sang in the wedding as well so I had double duty. The rehearsal dinner was at Rock Creek Golf Club in Fairhope. It was also super fun.

Saturday morning we had a semi-spontaneous brunch with friends that moved to Fairhope that we never get to see! Emily brought her baby, Porter. Lucy brought her baby in belly, and Lauren brought her 2 precious kids. Of course, Baker man came too. My parents and Lucy & Lauren's parents came as well as Amy, Nathan & Hayes. So, we had a big crowd and I'm so glad it worked out. It was so great to see them.

Then it was wedding time. I had just enough time after brunch to get ready for pictures. Sadly, my camera died after these 2 shots of Claire in her wedding dress. So, Part II of the wedding will have to be pics other people send me.

She looked beautiful and I was so happy for she and Chris. It was also one of the most fun receptions I've been too. They had it open to the outside and again, the weather was AWESOME. It overlooked the golf course which made it a great scene. I really hate that I have no more pics of the acutual wedding day, but stay tuned...

As we speak the couple is honeymooning in Jamaica at the same resort Brent and I went to. I am so jealous. It was such a fun place.

He is risen indeed!

It was a lovely Easter! I felt especially festive this year and not so much with the bunnies, chicks and eggs, but with the true meaning of Easter. Its funny how we glorify Christmas so much and make that holiday so important (and it is) but is Easter not MORE important? I think it is. Without Easter, the Christian faith would be nothing. I attended a "Good Friday" service on Friday here at Calvary and it was very powerful. It really set the tone for the whole weekend. We left Friday for Dothan, where we spent the weekend. Mom, Honey and I took Baker to see the Easter bunny on Saturday. He's still young enough not to get upset. In fact, he smiled so big! I will scan the picture in later. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Bakes doesn't love the car so much anymore so I rode in the back with him the whole weekend. Here he is on the way to church. He was in mid sentence.

Time to pack up the long sleeve sleepers and break out the onesies. Its hot!
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3: 12-14
