Celebrate! Part 2

Baker celebrated his 2nd birthday with an ABC's and 123's party at Wald Park in Vestavia this weekend. One great thing was that some of my friends that live all over the place got to join us! It was so fun to see their kids and hang out for his birthday. We had perfect weather and I was really pleased with this venue. If you live in Birmingham, I highly recomment Wald Park for a party.

A few of my lovely assistants! Thank the Lord for them! The birthday boy
Miss Leah Jane joined us in style. The art table Hey girl! I got some bouncin to do..
Even at his party, Baker managed to keep up with everything Hayes was doing.

Celebrate! Part 1

If you haven't heard, we have had quite the celebration this weekend! My boys share birthdays on October 21st and I refused to let the chaos of our life prevent me from celebrating them and making them feel special. I rushed home from rehearsal Thursday night to hang the birthday banner, blow up a few balloons and set out presents for Brent and Baker.

Friday morning was still a little early for Bake to be in the party mood.
Brent requested sausage casserole and Baker requested pancakes and got to blow out his candle. He clearly didn't remember what to do with candles and needed a tutorial.

Oh, this is super fun, mom!He got to open a present from us (books) since he already recieved his big gift a couple months ago.

Then we had a very small (and I do mean very small) party at school. I brought some mini cupcakes, stuck some candles on them and we celebrated at school with our friends. This time he felt confident in blowing them out..too bad we accidentally got trick candles.

I picked him early from school to take him to the park to play. It was fun to just hang out, the two of us and we were the only ones on the playground which is always nice. Friday night we squeezed in a fiesta right before my rehearsal. Baker loved his birthday sombrero and dessert.Saturday, Baker and I headed to Birmingham to hang out with Shug, Daggy, Nathan, Amy, Hayes and Watson. Brent took one for the team and stayed behind to clean out the attic. (yea) It was a great day to play in the playhouse. Baker's current obsession: Hayes Kennedy. He follows her everywhere she goes and has a panic attack if she is out of sight. He copies everything she does. They play so well together which I am thankful for.

Stay tuned for the birthday bash! I am saving that for a separate post.

War Eagle!

In July, I planned a trip with friends to meet in Auburn for the Auburn v. Florida game. Molly and Vince were coming in town and I asked my friend Betsy to be my "date" since neither of our husbands are Auburn fans. My friend,Lenzie, graciously allowed us all to stay at their house. I think there were 9 of us all weekend. Clay & Lenzie were such great hosts. They planned a fun itenerary and a super fun tailgate.

First on the itenerary- Niffers for dinner. Seriously, my favorite restaurant in Auburn. Then back to Lenzie & Clay's for a dance party..We may or may not have headed out to the Supper Club after that. I have no pictures of this though.

We got the tailgate started at 10:00 am. Betsy and I went to the game together and sat in the..wait for it...Student Section. Ok, this is the way to go. Great seats and SO much enthusiasm! I loved it. Our fun win was the icing on the cake.

I was so glad to get to see so many friends that I rarely get to see since we are scattered in all directions. It was a nice "escape" from the stress of life right now. I really can't complain though since its all technically good stress, but alas that doesn't help my sleep deprivation.

Stay tuned for a cute 1st birthday party we attended on Sunday...

Homecoming

We are not too busy to partake in some Homecoming festivites.

Auburn peeps, be warned, there is A LOT of crimson in these pictures. Go ahead and throw up, collect yourself, and read on...

Friday, I got to walk with Baker's class to sorority row to view the lawn displays. There is a lot of time put into constructing these things. I was impressed.

Baker's sweet class (minus a few)Eli's grandmother is the house mother for Chi-O so we go to stop there for a cookie and lemonade break!!

Chlo-Chlo has always been in Baker's class until this year. We miss her.

Kyler back in the classroom.

Abigail. This is who Baker blaims everytying on. "Who scrached you, Baker?" Abigail.

Saturday, we went out for a long day of tailgating. Again, Brent's neice and nephew set up their awesome tailgate on the quad and we got to partake.

It was so fun for dad to come in town! He was without mom because she is on a cruise, but we had fun just hanging out with him! Baker Man was happiest of all that he was here.

Addison is 2 months older than Bake. She is full of spunk too!

The tailgate lifesaver if you have kids!

Thomas came too! Always fun to hang out with Katie and T-Pain.

Sunday, we celebrated Charles' 50th birthday at Fig for brunch! It was a great time.
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3: 12-14
