B&T reunite

We had a nice weekend. I went to a Spa Party at a new friend's house and had a lot of fun. I have to admit that when I moved from Birmingham (town of many friends) to Tuscaloosa (town of zero friends- no, 1. Sorry Carrie) I have had a hard time getting to know people my age. I've discovered that trying to make friends at 29 is alot harder than it used to be. Anyway, point I am making is that Tricia goes to my church and helps out here too and she invited me over so I was excited. Whew, that was a long explanation. She had a girl bring her massage chair, she did facials, satin hands and had delicious food. Bonus* She gave me an enormous sack of clothes her boys had grown out of. Score!

Saturday was a day that I have been waiting for for a while. NEW FURNITURE DAY! Brent has had the same furniture since the dawn of time. Amy & Nathan gave us their couch which helped but our cats have destroyed everything in there basically and it was time. How we are going to keep the cats from destroying the new furniture I don't know.
Baker has become increasing mobile in the last week or so. I have been putting him on the floor to play and keeping an eye out while I am in the kitchen or something. This is what I found on Saturday.

And this

Sunday, I had Meg, Katie & Thomas over for a pool party. Thomas was loving his cheese puffs.

And Baker was working the camera as usual

And then the boys had some storytime. (We are going to have to work on sharing)

Baker is not so sure about sharing his crawl space with the cats.

4th of July is coming up and its honestly one of my favorite holidays. I have always loved the 4th. My family is coming to us this year which will be a lot of fun.

8 months & Fathers Day!

Happy 8 months Baker!

My baby getting another month older is bittersweet. Of course I want him to get bigger and thrive but such a huge part of me is sad when I retire an outfit of his that he has grown out of or put away his bouncy seat b/c he certainly will not stay in it. He is very close to even growing out of his exersaucer. He barely wants to play in there anymore. I can't even believe it. Now all he is interested in is pulling up on anything and everything.

Baker is still a very good baby but has recently become very opinionated. He will not stay still at all for a diaper change or a clothes change. I even give him a toy to play with on the changing table and that works for about 15 seconds and then he wants to get away.

"Baker I don't want you to wiggle off the bed, now"
"Hey Mommy, I got this"

I am amazed at how long he will watch TV. We really only let him watch TV in the mornings when I need him to be distracted while I get ready.

Fun Facts:
Weight: 16 lbs (approximately)
Teeth: 2
Tricks: Standing, pulling up, crawling, talking ("inkta patatie"..it means something to him)
Sleep schedule: bed at 7:30 and up at 6:00 am
Table food: We are beginning this now. He has had bananas mainly. We are about to do puffs and some other soft table foods.
Sippy cup: Still not professional at this, but likes to chew on the spout

He holds his own bottle now which I also get sad about.

He started crawling on Thursday..like a crab...with only 1 leg. But HEY, as long as he gets to his intended destination I won't judge him. Its really very hilarious.

One huge plus about my job at Calvary is that Baker goes to daycare here. So, I bring him up to my desk each day to play. Sometimes we go to the playroom and play instead.

and enjoying a cell phone snack...

Another good snack is a footboard!

We went to Dothan this weekend for Father's Day. Its always a fun time. My friends Kristen & April came over to see Baker & play. Kristen brough Karas & Hayes was there too. I can't believe I didn't get any pictures of this.

Loves his daddy

My sister-in-law Amy had a birthday on Saturday. So we celebrated on Saturday night. Amy is a sweet, funny and wonderful SIL. She is also an excellent mother to Hayesie Daisy. We are blessed to have her!

On Sunday Amy & I made a special Father's Day breakfast and then my mom cooked a delicious lunch. My uncle Hank and aunt Regina came over to eat. They love the babies!

With Grandaddy for Father's Day!

However, when Regina was holding Baker, he made this expression the entire time. Like she had 5 heads.

Bug Man, if you get any bigger I don't know what I am going to do. Love you big boy!
Oh, I didn't mention that his phrase of choice is now "da da". He completely abandoned "Buh buh". I hope you all had a great Father's Day!

More from Erin

I don't think I mentioned in the last post that Zoe went with us for the photo shoot. She was a great helper and handled most of the props. Then she had a chance behind the camera as well.

This is my favorite!

Erin Schmidt Photography

My friend Erin has decided to tackle the world of photography and asked Baker to be her first model. I gladly accepted since my camera is pretty basic. She was well prepared with super fun props for him. He will be 8 months old in a week so we will call these his 8 month pictures. Brent is not a fan of the "bonnet" in some of these but I think its sweet. He's a baby. Come on.

This is a great shot b/c it shows his favorite pastime. He wants to stand constantly.

I forgot to mention it was 1,000 degrees and therefore his hair is pretty slick.

I thought they turned out great. I think you found your calling Erin!

Wedding Weekend

This past weekend was my cousin, Daniel's wedding in Mobile. He married is girlfriend of 6 (or so) years, Jamie! So she already felt like a part of the family, but now its official. They are so perfect for each other so we were glad to be there with them.

If you have been to Auburn on gameday in the past 4-6 years you might have seen this Auburn firetruck riding through campus with a crowd of people shaking shakers and playing Auburn music. This is my uncle/the groom's father's firetruck. He is trying to sell it since he has no more kids at Auburn so if you know anyone interested send me a message. It's not everyday one is in the market for an Auburn firetruck, but HEY, you never know...

Rehearsal Dinner

Random idiots

Buggy Man decided he didn't like our Saturday plans to meet up with Kristin & Baby Leah Jane. Instead, he wanted to run a fever of 102 and vomit. So, we did that. We ended up here:

Turns out, he had an upper respiratory infection & is being treated for pneumonia. Nice day, nice day. So, we did NOTHING fun on Saturday. In fact, Brent stayed at the hotel that night with Baker so I could go to the wedding (since I had to sing) and go to the reception.

Rewind to the ride there- We found a way to entertain Buggy on trips- DVD player!

Now fast forward to Monday AKA the beginning of Theatre Camp! I don't know if I mentioned that I am teaching dance this year at Brent's Theatre Camp. The camp is ages 5-18. I took 1/2 days at work to teach at camp and then I come straight to my real job. I am not sure if I have ever been this exhausted. Did I mention it lasts 2 weeks?? It does. Its fun though and I think the kids are really enjoying themselves, but I am very very tired. The end.

Two peas in a pod & Fairhope

These guys love to hang out. Baker just completely lights up when he sees Brent. He finds his jokes hilarious too. Please see hand on face.
Baker went to school with Brent last Friday and I made them match. I know I am a loser. I get that.

I went to Fairhope this weekend for yet another girls trip (should be the last for a while and yes I felt a little guilty for leaving) Brent & Bakes had a boy weekend together and watched sports.

While I was gone Baker grew 2 teeth, began to semi-crawl and is PULLING UP!! Are you kidding me? I was only gone for 48 hours and all of this happened?? We are lowering his bed today. *sniff*. This is a blurry phone picture but you get the idea.

Here are some pics in Fairhope. We got pedicures, went shopping, saw the SATC 2 Movie, ate delicious meals, fancy brunch with bottomless mimosas & watched aLOT of embarrassing college videos. Its always fun to see these girls. They were and still are a huge part of my life. Susan is a super fantastic photographer and took these cute pics.

This is Emily's baby- Porter. So sweet!

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3: 12-14
